22nd Annual SOS Taco Night
As written on Thursday, April 17, 2015, by one of my 2 incredibly talented sisters, Sue Rosoff…
Tonight was the 22nd Annual Wild and Crazy Taco Night Fundraiser for Share our Selves featuring chefs and their establishments coming up with some AMAZING tacos!!! I neglected to bring home the list of ingredients in them all – but here are just a few. This event is dear to our hearts because it began as a surprise celebration that Karen McGlinn pulled off for Dad when they finished the kitchen and got the first van that went around and picked up leftovers from all sorts of restaurants to repackage and distribute through their food bank. Today “Food items are purchased and donated by approximately 25 area restaurants, markets and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Food is picked up by volunteer drivers 6 mornings a week. The food is repackaged and distributed by volunteers to those in need. SOS distributes an average of 215 bags of groceries a day. Bags are filled with fresh produce, meats, dairy products, breads and assorted canned goods.” What an incredible legacy!!
